What message would you like to get over at the exhibition?

The message is that the Marche region is one of the richest in biodiversity in Italy. Because it has a very special position and microclimate, between the Appenines and the sea. These biodiversity and microclimate enable to produce truffles throughout the year, in all varieties, from white to black, which is something quite unique. If someone needs truffles in August, they know they can find fresh ones in the Marche!

What makes the truffles found in the Marche so different?

It's precisely this diversity. You can find all types of truffles, the driest, the most fragrant, the least fragrant, the strongest, the weakest... We do have two flagship products: the white truffle, which is found in the north of the Marche, and the Nero Pregiato, a very high-quality black truffle, which is found mainly in the south of the region. These are probably two of the most popular truffles in the world.

How many producers are involved in this sector?

There are around 14,000 truffle seekers, but the truffle economy goes far further than that. Several companies export from Italy, Europe and all over the world. Truffles have a significant role to play for the region's economy. There is a good reason why the Marche region was the scene of the first dedicated truffle cultivation plan, back in 1932!
