It's the story of a dream. The dream of filling the world with flowers... but ones that you can eat. Innoflower, created in 2016 in the Zaragoza region of Spain, has made this dream a reality. The company has become a leader with a unique flagship product: flowers that are as beautiful as they are edible. Pansies, daisies, carnations, wallflowers, nasturtiums, or roses... These flowers are used in haute cuisine to bring a fresh and colorful touch to a dish.
Innoflower aims to expand their use to a wider audience. The Spanish company now targets the gastronomic sector, the food industry, and retail, both nationally and internationally. Hence their presence at Gourmet Selection, which allows them to directly reach fine grocery store owners, among others.
Innoflower cultivates, processes, and markets edible flowers responsibly, with a genuine CSR approach. The company operates according to a philosophy based on the "3Ps": people, planet, and profit.
The production of fresh edible flowers and other botanical products is carried out on agricultural properties or outsourced, favoring organic and/or integrated farming as much as possible. The goal is to prioritize local products, highlighting not only the region's resources but also the farmers' expertise. The processed edible flowers add value to these products, identifying an untapped niche in the Spanish market.
Innoflower also promotes the professional integration of people with disabilities or at risk of social exclusion. For the company, knowing who does the work and how it is done is as important as the quality of the product created.
There are, of course, fresh flowers that enhance dishes and salads. But there are also different preservation techniques such as crystallization, freeze-drying, pressing, and dehydration, which allow offering a wide range of other flower-based products to customers. Low-temperature dehydration allows the creation of infusions. Crystallization has enabled Innoflower to have its own line of flower-based candies, or to create lollipops that are as appetizing as they are aesthetic.
From research to reality: Innoflower's commitment to innovation and sustainability
Innoflower is also a company that innovates and facilitates research. For example, in cooperation with research centers, it has created new packaging that manages to extend the shelf life of its mini pansies from 7 to 21 days.
Designed with precision and advanced technology, the packaging ensures optimal preservation. The choice of the mini pansy is due to its popularity with consumers because of its bright color and velvety texture. Innoflower is now working on creating its own laboratory.
The company's multicolored flowers will be featured at the next edition of Gourmet Selection, from September 15 to 16, 2024, at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles.
