Montségur Paper Mills, a tissue paper manufacturer since 1840 in Drôme Provençale, belongs to the category of Living Heritage Companies (EPV). This company was the first paper mill to produce dyed-in-the-mass tissue paper under the impetus of one of France’s most famous florists in the 1960s. Under his influence, Montségur Paper Mills began producing high-quality colored tissue papers to enhance his bouquets.
Over 450 different colors are created on the last century-old machine still in operation in Europe, with around sixty available at all times, including five shades of metallic and pearlescent tissue paper.
This specialty has conferred upon Montségur Paper Mills its status as the premier French manufacturer of colored tissue and muslin paper.
Montségur Paper Mills thus produces high-quality thin papers. Sometimes called "muslin paper," they are dyed-in-the-mass, water-resistant, flame-retardant, and finished. Besides using the last paper machine over 100 years old, the company has its own printing workshop with modern flexographic presses and a conversion and finishing facility. About forty people are employed at Montségur.
The company’s expertise lies in producing dyed-in-the-mass, non-abrasive, and non-corrosive papers. The range of tissue papers is so vast that it can meet almost any graphic design code. The Montségur Paper Mills website allows customers to obtain tissue paper samples, consult the color chart, and request a quote.
